Exactly why are Girl Scout Cookies America's favorite treats? The world may never know - but what we do know is that you can never eat just one.Luckily, for cookie aficionados, these tasty treats are back again. Beginning today, Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri kicks off cookie season, taking orders and raising money to benefit Girl Scouts. The cookies will come in the same seven delicious flavors as last year: Thanks-A-Lot, Lemonades, Shout Out!, Peanut Butter Sandwich and Peanut Butter Patties, as well as perennial favorites Thin Mints and Caramel deLites.
There are many opportunities to buy your cookies this year. Girl Scouts from troops across the area will go door-to-door taking initial orders from Saturday, January 21 until Sunday, February 5. Additional orders will be taken up until March 18. Cookies will be delivered beginning February 29, and for those who don't place orders, cookie booths will be set up in various locations around town from February 29 until March 18.
All cookies are $3.50 per package. Proceeds from cookie sale stay within the community to benefit local girls. Troops use the money for everything from field trips to community service projects. Girl Scouts have been selling cookies for over 80 years.
