Lake Forest Country Club, located in Lake St. Louis, is looking for young men and women for their Caddie Program. The objective is to hire and train young men and women to fulfill the duties of a caddie as well as learn to work with others in a cooperative environment. As stated by the current Lake Forest member and Western Golf Association Director Wally Obremski, “As a club, our goal is to provide our membership with a first class caddie program, while developing life skills for the young men and women along the way”. If you are 14 years old, you can walk your way to a successful job. Walk with golfers, carry their clubs and help them enjoy the game.
Part of the Caddie program is an opportunity to qualify for a college scholarship thru the WGA Chick Evans Caddie Scholarship program. The Evans Scholarship foundation administers the nation’s largest privately funded college scholarship program, providing full tuition and housing grants to deserving caddies. Since the first two Scholars enrolled at Northwestern University in 1930, over 8,500 young men and women have graduated from the program. This year, 820 Evans Scholars are enrolled at 19 universities across the country. Their tuition and housing grants are renewable for up to four years, representing a value from nearly $40,000 to over $150,000. While the program is national in scope, its focus is principally in the Midwest. You may review the Evans Scholarship website at www.wgaesf.com
The caddie registration and orientation will be Saturday Feb 11th at 2:00pm. A parent(s) must accompany any potential caddies to the registration. There will be a brief presentation and time for questions following the presentation.
